As of November
2017, 13.28 crore out of 33 crore PANs have been linked Aadhaar, previously the
deadline for linking PAN with Aadhaar was July 31 but was extended to August 31
and later to December 31, 2017.
The government
extended the deadline for mandatory linking of PAN with Aadhaar by three months
to March 31, 2018.
This is the 3rd
extension given by the government to citizens to link their Permanent Account
Number (PAN) with their Aadhar.
Income Tax Act
Section 139 AA (2) shows that every person having PAN as on July 1, 2017, and
eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must intimate their Aadhaar to the tax authorities.
The deadline for
linking Aadhaar and mobile phones remains unchanged February 6, 2018.
Subscribers have
to visit authorized retailers with the mobile phone that has the SIM to be
linked.
